As you may have read in Model Boats and Marine Modelling magazines during the last year or so, some of my hulls have been copied and offered for sale in model boat clubs, and a few model shops. Most instances brought to my attention have been in the north of England, and some of these copies have appeared from time to time on the eBay auction website. Fortunately, eBay are very hot on sellers trying to pass off counterfeit goods, so they quickly put a stop to it and blacklisted the individuals concerned. You won’t need to be told that all Kingston Mouldings hulls, designs and plans are protected by copyright under UK law. Copying in any way is illegal, and can result in severe penalties for the perpetrator. I’d be grateful if anyone coming across copies of my hulls or who have been offered apparently genuine hulls at suspicious prices, could let me know. Most of the people in the model business stick together on things like this, and illegal copying has affected most hull producers at some time, so if you see an apparently suspect hull from any other legitimate UK producer, if you let me know about that as well, I'll pass the word to the people running the business concerned.
